1. Pilot training does not help you in escaping the books. While it is indeed true that it is a practical course and the focus is less on books but there are numerous theory exams that must be aced else you won’t be able to get your license.
2. There are numerous guidelines and norms set up by DGCA. All of them must be strictly adhered by the pilot at all times else there is a danger of permanent suspensions which might destroy your career.
3. There are numerous documents that must be up to date right from the training days to the end of career. Some of these documents are SPL, FRTOL, COP (RTR), a pass certificate in the five compulsory theory subjects, a Class 1 medical assessment and log book with a detailed description of all the flying hours.
4. The placements are also not very organized in this industry as it is yet to become as big as the medical or the engineering sectors of the country. As a result there is no guarantee that you will get a job after your Pilot training in India.
