Thus the government has decided to provide opportunities to selective 9 candidates from the Scheduled tribes, Scheduled castes as well as OBC’s from the newly formed state of Chhattisgarh to get pilot training for free o f cost every single year. The director of Aviation of the state, Mr. Anil Tuteja, has states that the government will take care of the entire cost and expenses of providing pilot training to the boys of Chhattisgarh who belong to the poor families.

The only requirement for being able to get pilot training for free is that the candidate should have successfully cleared the Class XII with a first class with Mathematics and physics as 2 subjects. The candidates will be provided with pilot training at Sai Fly Tech Academy which is situated at Chakarbhata airport in Bilaspur. The cost that will be incurred to the government for providing pilot training for free to these nine candidates would come down to about Rs 1.32 crores for every single year.

This scheme will not only be beneficial to the people of Chhattisgarh in improving their financial status but will also extremely beneficial to the aviation industry in our country because it will generate more number of pilots.

Another way of getting pilot training for free is by joining the Indian Air force as a pilot. This can be done easily by giving the entrance exam of the NDA after the 12th standard. Here, you will get your pilot training for free of cost and you will also get a stipend for 3 years during your training. After the successful completion of your training, you would be posted at an Air Force Station and your post will be of a pilot.

Pilot Training Process

Pilot Training ProcessIn order to be able to take up a pilot training course it is very important for the candidate to have a passing certificate of atleast 10 + 2 or its equivalent along with 50% marks in Physics as well as mathematics. The candidate willing to take up the pilot training course should not be less than 16 to 17 years of age. The candidate should have a good eye sight and should be physically fit and should have a medical certificate in order to be able to take up the pilot training course.

As far as the pilot training process is concerned, the first and foremost step is to obtain a student pilot license which is often called an SPL. After obtaining the SPL, the candidate can start the flight training process in order to obtain the PPL or the private pilot license. The PPL includes atleast 60 hours of flying out of which 20 hours of solo flying ,5 hours of cross country flights as well as 20 hours of dual flying (with an instructor).  Along with flying clearing the theoretical exams in subjects such as Air Navigation, Air Regulations, Aircraft Engines and many more is also important.

After obtaining the PPL atleast 190 hours of flying are needed in order to obtain a CPL or a Commercial Pilot’s License. Thus on summing up a total of 250 hours of total flying hours are needed. Along with these licenses, a radio telephone license along with a flight radio operators license need to be taken.

Thus in order to complete the entire pilot training process which includes flying hours as well as class room learning a total of about  2 to 3 years are required.
